Dear parents, singers,

We look forward to your participation in the semi-finals of the 8th Brežice International Children’s Singing Festival, which will be held in two parts. On Friday, August 23, 2024, the first part of the semifinals will take place in the Brežice Youth Center, and on Saturday, August 24, 2024, also in the Brežice Youth Center, the second part of the semifinals of our festival. To make it easier for you to come to the festival and ensure smooth rehearsals without unnecessary stress, we give you some tips.

Parking:

The address for both parts of the semi-final selection of the 8th Brežice International Children’s Singing Festival is the Mladinski center Brežice, Gubčeva ulica 10a, 8250 Brežice. The parking space in front of the hall of the Brežice Youth Center can fill up quickly, so please park in the parking space nearby. Pay attention to the timing of your rehearsals:

In the past weeks, all registrants have received a control sheet showing the exact hour and minute of your rehearsals. If your check-in sheet says that you have a rehearsal at 2:13 p.m., that means you enter the hall at least 10 minutes early, sit in an empty seat and wait for your name and surname to be called. After the rehearsal, you are free until 17:45, when the performers have to go to their dressing rooms and wait for their performance. Each year, the order of rehearsals is from the oldest to the youngest, in order to shorten the waiting time for the youngest. For the same reason, the order of performance in the semi-finals is sorted from the youngest to the oldest singers.

Signing GDPR consents:

Applicants must be present at the rehearsals, as during the rehearsal you will sign GDPR consents, which are a condition for participation in the Brežice International Children’s Singing Festival.

This year’s 8th Brežice International Children’s Singing Festival hosted 141 young singers at auditions held in Slovenia, Croatia and online in June 2024. The expert jury had an extremely difficult task to select the semi-finalists.

Male and female singers from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, Malta and Estonia were selected, classified into three age groups: 6-9 years, 10-13 years and 14-17 years. They will compete in two semi-final evenings, which will take place on August 23 and 24, 2024 at 6 p.m. in the Brežice Youth Center.

In the first part of the semi-final, the jury consisting of three jurors and the audience in the hall as the fourth juror will select 12, and in the second part 13 finalists, who will present themselves at the grand final of the 8th International Children’s Singing Festival in Brežice on August 25.
The price of the ticket, which represents three ballots for each age group and a free bottle of water, is a symbolic 5 EUR and is sold at the entrance.

Dear applicants, dear singers!

The Brežice International Children’s Singing Festival has a limited number of participants, as this year we can host only 52 performers, namely 26 singers who will perform in the first part of the semi-finals, which will take place on Friday, August 23, 2024, and 26 singers who will perform on Saturday, August 24, 2024.

This year, we received 141 applications, but unfortunately we had to choose only 52 singers who convinced our international jury the most with their performance. That is, the best of the excellent were chosen. Those who did not audition for the International Children’s Singing Festival Brežice are still great singers! We will be happy if they sign up for our festival next year, and visit this year as listeners.

Today, June 21, 2024, we sent all applicants the audition results to the applicant’s email, which is the email from which the applicants made the application. If you are sure that you have successfully submitted your application to our festival, but you have not yet received the result of the audition, please let us know on info@brezice.eu or by phone at +386 70 60 70 70 (Maks). Thank you.

After reviewing all matrices, portrait photographs and other data, we will send a Checklist to all participants by July 15, 2024, which will indicate if we require the completion of a defective application. Also, a musical accompaniment will be attached to the checklist, to which the performer will sing live. We suggest that you listen to the musical accompaniment from beginning to end, because this is the only way to check if everything is in order with the accompaniment you sent us in your application form.

After the auditions in neighboring Croatia (Cultural Center Klanjec), which took place on June 2, 2024, and after the auditions in Slovenia (Dom kulture Brežice), which took place on June 9, 2024, extensive online auditions are coming, of which there are an inappropriate number this year like previous years.
The Brežice International Children’s Singing Festival recorded a record number of applications (141), from a record number of countries (11). The international jury is currently evaluating all online applications, so we will announce the results of this year’s auditions on Friday, June 21, 2024.

Applicants will receive the results privately to the applicant’s email address, which they used when applying. 48, up to a maximum of 52, semi-finalists of the 8th Brežice International Children’s Singing Festival will be selected, who will be divided into two semi-final evenings.

After classification in the semi-finals, each applicant will receive a Control Sheet, on which it will be written when the registered candidate has rehearsals and in which part of the semi-finals he will perform.
