International Children’s Singing Festival Brežice Celebrates its 10th Anniversary with Major Changes and Record Participation

Brežice is once again gearing up for the highlight of the summer music season. Organized by Partitura d.o.o. and its partners ZPTM Brežice, the Posavje Museum Brežice, the Municipality of Brežice, and the Society for the Development and Preservation of Music Brežice, August will mark the jubilee 10th International Children’s Singing Festival Brežice.

This year’s milestone anniversary brings outstanding international competition and a significant update regarding the venues. The stage will welcome 67 young performers, aged from 5 to 17 inclusive, representing 7 different countries. The festival thus reaffirms its reputation as a premier launching pad for young talents in the region, with last year’s winner, Ameli Dinarina-Šimić, proudly featured on this year’s official poster.

Key Update: Semi-Finals at a New Venue

This year, the organizers are introducing an important change to provide the young singers with an even more professional stage experience. Unlike in previous years, when the semi-finals were hosted by the Brežice Youth Center (Mladinski center Brežice), both semi-final evenings will now take place at the Brežice Culture House (Dom kulture Brežice, Trg Jožeta Toporišiča 3).

The schedule spans over three days:

  • Semi-final, Part 1: Friday, August 21, 2026, at 17:00 (Dom kulture Brežice) – featuring the first 32 singers.
  • Semi-final, Part 2: Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 17:00 (Dom kulture Brežice) – featuring the remaining 32 singers.
  • Grand Finale & TV Show Recording: Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 19:00 (Brežice Castle – PMB, Cesta prvih borcev 1).

All three festival evenings will be gracefully guided by the exceptional host and moderator, Anja Urek.

International Jury of Renowned Experts and a Special Surprise

The performances of these young talents will be evaluated by an expert jury, whose lineup highlights the international character of the project:

  • Danielle Zuber (Switzerland),
  • Lado Leš (Serbia),
  • Jožica Župan (Slovenia), and
  • Alen Jelušić (Croatia).

The top contestants from the semi-finals will advance to Sunday’s grand spectacle in the castle courtyard. This final evening will also be recorded for a television broadcast, offering the young vocalists invaluable experience in front of the cameras. To celebrate this landmark 10th anniversary, the organizers have also teased a special musical and vocal surprise during the Grand Finale that guests certainly won’t want to miss!

Come and support these rising young stars as we celebrate a decade of a festival that consistently puts Brežice on the map for top-tier youth vocal artistry.
