This year’s auditions for the 10th International Children’s Singing Festival Brežice 2026 are officially closed! The organizing committee is pleased to announce that the final results have just been sent to all applicants via their email addresses. Please check your email inboxes (and your spam/junk folder just in case).

The festival truly highlights its international spirit this year, as we received an incredible 211 applications from 7 countries: young singers participated from Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Ukraine, Italy, and Switzerland. The performance level was exceptionally high, making the jury’s decision tougher than ever.

Due to technical and time constraints of the grand finale, which will be produced as a televised broadcast, we could only accept 68 contestants into the semi-finals, which will be presented in two parts:

• On August 21, 2026, at the Brežice Youth Culture Center (Dom kulture Brežice), the first 34 singers will perform in Part 1 of the semi-finals.
• On August 22, 2026, also at the Brežice Youth Culture Center, the next 34 singers will take the stage for Part 2 of the semi-finals.

The exact running order indicating who will perform in which part of the semi-finals will be sent to the accepted participants in a so-called control sheet. In this document, they will also find direct links to their backing tracks and photos so they can carefully check and verify that everything is correct before the event.

If you were not accepted into the semi-finals, please do not lose heart!

We are fully aware that among the 143 singers we could not include this time, there is a vast number of outstanding and top-tier talents. The selection process was incredibly difficult for the jury, especially in the highly competitive 2nd age group.

We want to emphasize: the fact that you were not selected this time by no means implies there is anything wrong with your singing or your talent. Aside from the vocal performance itself, the final choice was heavily influenced by strict technical and organizational factors, such as the required high audio-production standards for backing tracks, or the fact that your chosen song had already been reserved by an earlier applicant.

Do not let this experience discourage you or diminish your immense passion for music. Keep singing with the same joy and continue to proudly develop your beautiful gift. We warmly invite you to follow our updates and apply again next year – our only advice is to submit your application as soon as the registration opens to secure your favorite song in time.

Dear singers, parents, and companions!

Today is the day we finally meet for the live auditions! To ensure your arrival and today’s performance go as smoothly as possible, here are the final essential guidelines and important details.

📍 Where are the auditions?

The auditions take place at the Dom kulture Brežice (Trg Jožeta Toporišiča 3, 8250 Brežice, Slovenia). 👉 CLICK HERE FOR DIRECTIONS TO THE VENUE (this link will automatically navigate you from your current location).

🚗 Parking Instructions

• Right next to the venue: A limited number of parking spaces are available directly in front of the Dom kulture at Trg Jožeta Toporišiča and along the surrounding streets. Please pay attention to any blue zones (where a parking disc showing your arrival time is required).
• Nearby larger parking lots: If the spaces next to the hall are full, we highly recommend parking at the larger public parking lot near the Brežice Sports Hall (Športna dvorana Brežice) or the parking lots along the old town walls (Pod obzidjem Street). From there, it is just a short 3–5 minute walk to the venue through the town center.

📋 Key Rules and Audition Process

• WELCOME TO THE AUDITIONS!
• Please enter the hall, take a seat, and wait for the jury to call you to the stage. Anyone accompanying you (family / relatives / friends) is welcome to join you in the hall.
• You may enter the hall as soon as you arrive at the location. Please make sure not to disturb the performers on stage while waiting for your turn.
• Important Festival Notice: There are 211 registered candidates, and we can accept a maximum of 60 (30 for the first part of the semi-finals on August 21, 2026, and 30 for the second part on August 22, 2026). You cannot choose the date of the semi-finals you will be assigned to. Therefore, we kindly ask that if you have any other commitments at any time of the day between August 21 and August 23, 2026, please do not take the audition and leave your spot for candidates who are 100% ready to participate in all 3 festival days (regardless of the specific time slot assigned for rehearsals and performances).
• Schedule: Rehearsals always run from the oldest to the youngest participant, while the live performances run in reverse order – from the youngest to the oldest.

📅 Results

The results of the auditions will be announced after all auditions (including online submissions) are completed, expected by June 25, 2026. You will be notified about your result via the email address used to submit your application.

Our dear young singers, respected parents, and mentors!

As we officially closed the applications for our collective 10th anniversary International Children’s Singing Festival Brežice on June 1st, 2026, we were overwhelmed with incredible emotions. Our hearts are bursting with gratitude because you shared your dreams and love for music with us in such numbers that all previous records have been broken! We received an amazing 211 applications from wonderful singers aged 6 to 17, coming from 7 different countries. Thank you for every note sent, for every smile, and for the immense trust you have shown us on this festive jubilee.

Currently, with great care and respect for each of you, we are conducting the technical review of applications, which will run until June 10th. Right after that comes the most beautiful part – the live meeting! The live auditions will take place on Sunday, June 14th, 2026, in the warm embrace of the Brežice Cultural Centre (Trg Jožeta Toporišiča 3, 8250 Brežice). Because we want every child to feel welcome and to avoid long waiting times, you will be invited to the audition at a pre-scheduled hour. Therefore, we kindly ask you to regularly check your email inboxes over the coming days, including your SPAM folder, so you don’t miss your invitation.

Please, do not let fear or nervousness heavy your hearts before the audition! Our jury is already eagerly waiting for you with open arms, warm smiles, and the sole desire to help you shine. An audition with us is not an exam; it is a celebration of your courage, joy, and talent!

It is true that the jury will face an incredibly difficult task, as they can select only 60 semifinalists from the live and subsequent online auditions to perform at the two beautiful semifinal evenings (August 21st and 22nd, 2026). The results of both auditions will be sent to your application email addresses no later than June 25th, 2026.

Important information regarding song selection and backup tracks:

• The Timestamp Rule: Each of the 60 selected candidates will perform at the audition with the song they applied with or the one listed as a backup. The single song that is definitively chosen and performed during the audition will also be the one they perform at the festival itself, should they pass the audition successfully. Since every application carries a unique timestamp, the person who applied earlier has priority if songs are duplicated or triplicated. If someone who was first with a specific song does not pass the audition or decides not to participate, the song belongs to the person who applied second with it, and so on.
• Why don’t we announce duplicate songs in advance? The reason is simple and, above all, well-intentioned. We do not want to discourage or stress a candidate who applied third with the same song, as we do not yet know if the first two might change their minds or if they will pass the audition successfully. So stay calm and believe in your performance!
• A warm tip from the organizers: For those who did not submit a backup song during application, we advise you to prepare one just in case. Keep the backing track (instrumental) saved on your mobile phone so that, if requested by the jury, you can quickly email it to the address we will provide at the audition. Please do not send backup tracks in advance. Thank you for your understanding.
